General Information

All rides begin at the Cattail Creek RV Park and Campground, located on State Route 629, (3901 Moore's Ferry Road), three miles west of I-95 at the Skippers exit, Exit I-95 at milepost 4. Directions to the campground are plainly marked.

The routes are well-marked (painted arrows at all paved state road intersections). All routes begin and end at the campground. Detailed maps are furnished and SAG wagon support is provided. Ride start times are flexible and conducted at your own pace. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED.

Snacks are provided at designated stops, including peanuts, bananas, tomatoes, watermelons, and the famous ‘cucumber stop’ and ‘watermelon rind pickle stop’ (both introduced to the biking world by the Emporia Bicycle Club). No meals are provided along routes.

The routes are planned for light traffic areas and will pass through sections of Greensville, Southampton and Brunswick Counties, Virginia, and Northampton, Halifax, and Warren Counties, North Carolina. All terrain is flat Tidewater or slightly rolling Piedmont.

Water stops and country stores are located along all routes. Porta-johns are located at water stops.

Showers are available at the campground. Ample parking is also available.

You must make your own arrangement for camping and/or lodging. The cost for camping/lodging is not included in the registration fee. Lodging is listed below.
